Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Custodian Lead to join the Wisconsin Union – Union South custodial team. The lead worker will assist with training, inspect progress and quality of building services, and perform routine cleaning, trash removal, and snow removal.

Work is under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor. Shift hours are 3rd Shift, 10pm - 6:30pm (Union South) or 10:30pm - 7pm (Memorial Union); 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, and climb during shift.
• Lift and move supplies regularly up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Outdoor snow and ice removal during cold weather.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and secures facility entrances and reports issues.
• Maintains supply areas and documents inventory.
• Documents repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
• Keeps walkways clear of debris, snow, and ice.
• Schedules and trains staff as needed.
• Uses basic cleaning equipment and disposes waste.
• Responds to emergencies and escalates as needed.
