Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Hibbing, MN is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas, performing janitorial duties and operating motorized cleaning equipment. You will follow safety rules, work in a team, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers and customers.

Weekend night shifts run Saturday-Wednesday 9:00pm–5:30am with hourly pay of $14.00–$15.00; benefits are described on the SBM careers site.

Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret instructions and procedures.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
