Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a part-time Critical Care Tech for the Kelemen 10 unit. The role supports daily living activities, performs phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, and Foley care under RN supervision. You will identify patient status changes and reinforce education with patients and families.

Expect collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, participation in rounds, and ongoing competency requirements. Evening/night shifts 7p-7:30a with weekend/holiday rotation are included.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Completion of Patient Care Technician training with active certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• Certifications CPT, CPCT-A, or ACMA are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care per RN instructions.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities; assist in orienting new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
