Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols for the Critical Care unit.

You will coordinate patient care with multiple disciplines, implement and monitor care plans, communicate patient status, assist with discharge planning, educate patients and families about conditions and treatments, and uphold safety and compliance standards; 0.9 FTE, 7P-7A.

Qualifications

• RN license in Kentucky required on hire.
• BLS certification required within 45 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of employment.
• Education: Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor's degree within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
