Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years of employment.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kentucky upon hire.
• BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support or ALS required within 12 months of employment.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols.
• Perform functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Assess learning needs of patient and family and provide education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
• Perform duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
