Qualifications

• Valid New York State Security Guard License
• High School Diploma, GED, or proof of education
• Overnight availability
• Previous security experience preferred
• Previous experience with access control systems preferred
• Ability to learn and operate security technology and computer-based systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with Slack or similar workplace messaging platforms
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned location
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the facility
• Use access control systems to open doors and manage badges
• Process tickets authorizing site access
• Update badges for biometric readers
• Monitor CCTV systems and stay vigilant for suspicious activity
• Check in and authorize visitors
• Use intercom to communicate with visitors
• Communicate with operations team via radio
• Enforce security policies and access protocols
• Respond to incidents and emergencies
• Prepare incident reports with details
• Provide professional customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors
• Collaborate with other Security Officers and client personnel
• Utilize Slack for workplace communication
• Use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook for daily tasks
• Maintain a safe, secure environment
