Job summary

CMTS LLC is seeking a Construction Engineer in Los Angeles, CA for a full‑time night shift role. You will support the Resident Engineer in inspection, contract administration, and coordination with LAWA, Caltrans, and City Departments on public works projects including roadways and utilities.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, PE license, and prior field experience. Proficiency with MS Office and scheduling tools is expected; willingness to travel and work on site is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Professional engineering license (PE) or licensure recognized for the position location.
• Experience in construction engineering and field oversight on public works projects.
• Strong skills with MS Office, estimating and CPM scheduling tools, and collaborative document platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support LAWA Construction Inspection Division and City of Los Angeles with nightly field inspections to verify construction activities follow approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain checklists for inspections, field material sampling, and testing per contract documents.
• Maintain project records including daily reports, quantity calculations, photos, punch lists, and as‑built documentation.
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, directives, task orders, change notices, and change orders.
• Monitor contractor progress and participate in schedule reviews and look‑ahead coordination.
• Support safety, traffic control, environmental compliance, and SWPPP requirements on site.
