Job summary

HDR is delivering PM/CM services for the LAWA ATMP Landside Improvements Project in Los Angeles. The Construction Project Representative will assist the Resident Engineer with on-site inspection, contract administration, and coordination with LAWA, Caltrans, City of LA, and utilities.

The role requires reviewing plans and specs, preparing inspection checklists, maintaining records, and supporting safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive construction experience on public infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support LAWA Construction Inspection Division and City of LA with nightly field inspections per plans, specs, and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain checklists for inspections, field sampling, and testing.
• Maintain project records including daily reports, punch-lists, and as-built docs.
• Assist with submittals, RFIs, field directives, COs and change notices.
• Monitor contractor progress and participate in schedule reviews and look-ahead planning.
• Support safety, traffic control, environmental/MMRP, and SWPPP compliance on site.
• Coordinate field materials testing and QA with the QA team.
• Assist in layout, staking, and verification of contract pay items.
• Review and prepare LAWA shutdown and permit documentation as needed.
• Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings and final acceptance walks.
