Job summary

United Hospital Center (UHC) is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the night shift. You will work under supervision of a licensed nurse performing nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care, including vital signs, hygiene, and comfort measures.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and CNA or WVU Patient Care Technician credentials. Prior patient care experience is preferred, and duties include assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• WVUM Patient Care Technician program or CNA credentials accepted.
• CNA certification through OH/WV registries acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Record vital signs and assist in personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist in infection control measures.
