Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Valid California RN license.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS at time of hire; commitment to obtain UCSD Code ART within six months.
• Minimum three years of inpatient, acute care adult ICU RN experience or equivalent.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a critical care setting.
• Demonstrates leadership to direct Code Blue/RRTs in a complex hospital.
• Excellent communication and empathy with staff and patients.
• Experience with quality improvement and performance improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke and STEMI activations 24/7.
• Proactive rounding across units.
• Monitor quality metrics and develop performance improvement projects.
• Practice autonomous nursing care consistent with ANA Standards of Practice.
