Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Code Nurse to provide 24/7 response to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke, and STEMI activations across units. You will actively round and monitor quality metrics while delivering autonomous nursing care.

The role requires a California RN license, BLS/CPR and ACLS at hire, 3+ years of ICU experience, and leadership and critical thinking skills. A commitment to ongoing professional development including UCSD Code ART is expected.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Valid California RN license.
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD Code ART within six months of hire date.
Minimum three (3) years of recent inpatient, acute care adult ICU RN experience or equivalent.
Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication and empathy in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Experience with quality improvement and quality metrics projects.

Responsibilities

Provide 24/7 response to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke and STEMI activations.
Proactive rounding across units; monitor Code Blue and Rapid Response quality metrics.
Develop performance improvement projects to address gaps and align with initiatives.
Practice autonomously within ANA Standards of Practice and professional performance.
