Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Code/Rapid Response Nurse to provide around-the-clock response to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke and STEMI activations. The role involves proactive rounding, monitoring quality metrics, and leading improvement initiatives in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a California RN license, BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications, and a minimum of three years in inpatient acute care, preferably ICU.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Must possess a valid California RN license.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD Code ART within six months of hire date.
• Minimum three years of inpatient, acute care adult ICU RN experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 response to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke and STEMI activations.
• Proactive rounding across units; monitor Code Blue and Rapid Response metrics.
• Develop performance improvement projects to address gaps and align with strategic initiatives.
