Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC in Hickory, NC, is seeking a Coater Operator for night shift. The role requires ensuring orders meet specifications, maintaining safety and quality, and collaborating with Manufacturing, QA, R&D, and Engineering to uphold standards.

The position emphasizes teamwork, continuous improvement, and responsible manufacturing practices in a safety-focused environment. The right candidate will help sustain efficient production and uphold quality across shifts.

Qualifications

• High degree of manual dexterity.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to read length measurements, gauges and meters.
• Knowledge of production schedules.
• Basic math skills, computer skills, and data entry.
• Ability to follow work instructions, safety rules, and specifications with great attention to detail.
• May be required to obtain a tow-motor license.

Responsibilities

• Utilize logbooks for issues that occur on shift.
• Indirectly responsible for the safety of the crewmembers.
• Perform quality and standard checks.
• Participate in die changes as scheduled.
• Complete appropriate data sheets as required.
• Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Follow "Red Tag" procedures if required.
• Follow all safety rules when entering the manufacturing facility.
• Responsible for maintaining clean and organized work areas.
• Maintain inventories needed for production run.
• Communicate and share knowledge with operators and coworkers.
• Make suggestions on reducing costs, improving safety, and/or improving product or process.
• Participate in S4 continuous improvement team meetings and projects.
