Job summary

Waukesha Bearings Antigo Plant is seeking a Night Shift CNC Operator to read blueprints, set up and run CNC mills and lathes, and ensure quality with precision inspection tools. You will download programs from the DNC system, select tooling, and compute feeds and speeds for various metals while maintaining safety and lean practices.

The ideal candidate has CNC experience, G-code/CAM knowledge, and blueprint reading skills, plus a relevant Machine Tool Operation certificate or equivalent

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience with precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges.
• One year Machine Tool Operation certificate or 3–6 months related training/experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience operating CNC milling machines or CNC lathes.
• Knowledge of G-code and CAM programming.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments confidently.

Responsibilities

• Read, process sheets, blueprints and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, setup, and operating requirements.
• Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
• Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations.
• Calculate proper feeds and speeds for various steels and alloys.
• Read, understand, edit and/or write programs; understand tooling capabilities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices in a fast-paced setting.
• Set up measuring equipment and verify calibration of equipment.
