Job summary

MercyOne Newton Medical Center in Newton, IA is seeking a Patient Care Tech / CNA for the Med Surg Unit on 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). Under supervision of a staff nurse, you will assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic nursing care.

Applicants must complete a CNA program and be registered, be at least 16 years old, complete mandatory reporter training within 3 months, and obtain BLS within six weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of CNA program (75/120/150 hours) and active CNA registry.
• Must be at least 16 years old and complete Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Measure and record vitals and intake/output.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness per MercyOne policies.
• Provide basic nursing care under supervision.
