Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking a Unit Secretary/CNA for the night shift on a part-time schedule (12 hours per week). The role supports patient care by assisting with daily living activities and clerical duties under supervision of a registered nurse.

The ideal candidate holds Iowa CNA certification, is BLS certified within 3 months of hire, and brings a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide verification from the State of Iowa.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and comfort needs.
• Transcribe physician orders and enter orders into the computer.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and therapies for patients.
• Assemble admission and discharge charts and maintain patient records for billing.
• Answer telephone calls, relay messages to appropriate staff, and provide approved information.
• Demonstrate professional behavior aligned with MercyOne Clinton’s mission and policies.
