Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking a Unit Secretary/CNA for a part-time night shift. You will support the nursing team with unit coordination, transcription, order entry, and patient care activities.

Responsibilities include charting, scheduling tests, and handling communications with patients and staff. Qualified candidates will be a State of Iowa Certified Nurse Aide with BLS within 3 months, and have strong multitasking skills in a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide verification from Iowa required.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
• Collaborative, patient-centered care approach aligned with mission.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders and performs order entry.
• Schedules diagnostic tests and therapies for patients.
• Assembles admission and discharge charts and maintains records.
• Completes documentation for billing; answers calls and messages.
• Provides patient assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
