Job summary

Heywood Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for night shift duties in Massachusetts. The role involves direct patient care under a licensed nurse, data collection, personal care, and accurate charting.

You will support daily living activities, assist with transfers, and maintain safety and infection control practices. Qualifications include High School diploma, current CNA certification or required program hours, and MA CNA licensure or out-of-state equivalence; BLS

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification required or 75 hours in an accredited nursing program to include completion of first rotation or EMT/Paramedic/Patient Care Technician/Home Health Aide/Medical Assistant certification or Nurse Aide program completion.
• Massachusetts CNA licensure or equivalent from out of state.
• 1 year Long Term Care or Acute Care experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS upon hire or obtained within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under direction of a licensed nurse following standards and policies.
• Collect basic health data as directed by a licensed nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Prioritize care and seek assistance when needed.
• Maintain dignity and provide care that supports patient self-esteem.
• Document patient information accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report safety hazards.
• Communicate patient information to supervising staff and health team.
• Participate in staff education and orientation activities.
• Identify and report potential safety risks to reduce errors.
• Assist with meals, feeding and hydration per plan.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and positioning as instructed.
• Adhere to infection control policies; assist with room prep.
