Job summary

Novant Health in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct support to residents in Assisted Living units under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, help with transfers, and maintain a clean, safe environment while following infection prevention standards.

A high school diploma and completion of the NAI program are required, with relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; completion of NAI program required.
• One year of relevant experience preferred; one year required for Assisted Living facilities in long-term care.
• NAI program completion; listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I; Medication Safety - AME required.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, ambulation, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, intake/output, and specimen collection.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly report changes, abnormal findings, or concerns to the nursing team.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, patient transport, and basic clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment while following infection prevention and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to provide a positive, patient-centered experience.
