Job summary

UNC Health Care in Lenoir, NC is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant I to join our team on the night shift. You will support professional caregivers, transport patients and equipment, and help set up patient rooms while performing essential clerical duties.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and fluency in English. Prior experience is not required. This is an onsite, full-time position with a 36-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• Capability to develop computer skills if not competent.
• BLS certification is required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Reviews patient care documentation and reports significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Performs clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, handle phones, transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provides clinical support such as cleaning work areas, troubleshooting equipment, transporting patients and supplies, and orienting new staff.
• Provides direct personal care: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, and vitals recording.
• Reinforces patient education and distributes educational materials.
