Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a part-time SRNA to provide direct patient care under a nurse's supervision. You will greet patients, support the care team, and help ensure a safe, compassionate environment on the Observation unit.

You will collaborate with nurses to conduct assessments, document progress, and assist with admissions, discharges, and routine tasks in EMR. Certification in SRNA and BLS within timelines are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• SRNA certification required upon hire; BLS within 90 days of employment.
• No experience required; clinical readiness and safety mindedness expected.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with attention to patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Greet and orient patients to the hospital environment and unit routines.
• Create a positive patient experience by focusing on patient and visitor needs.
• Involve patients and families in handoff to meet needs and ensure safety through rounding.
• Communicate updates to the patient-room care board.
• Support a culture of safety by using error prevention tools daily.
• Assist in patient assessment by data collection and reporting abnormalities.
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in EMR.
• Assist nursing staff with personal care respecting patient diversity and policies.
• May monitor and handle medication per safe handling practices; update diet orders as needed.
