Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Medical Surgical department. The position supports administrative functions, leads staff orientation, and collaborates with the unit Director to ensure high-quality patient care during night shifts.

The ideal candidate holds an IL RN license (BSN preferred) with BLS and ACLS current, and at least 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in state (IL).
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• BLS required upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS required upon hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions.
• Assists the Department Director/Manager and may assume administrative scope in their absence.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Leads orientation and training of personnel; communicates with staff, physicians, and administration.
• Ensures efficient departmental functions and directs, supervises, and evaluates staff on shift.
• Performs direct patient care as needed within scope of practice; continually assesses care and guides changes in the plan.
