Job summary

Abbott is seeking a General Supervisor for the Clinical Laboratory to oversee day‑to‑day operations and staff development in a on‑site Madison, WI facility. You will lead the quality management program, ensure compliance with CLIA/CAP/OSHA, and serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, evaluating competency, maintaining budgets, and overseeing proficiency testing and QC activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or related field.
4+ years of high-complexity testing experience in a clinical lab.
2+ years in a role with increasing responsibilities (lead/technical lead).
ASCP or equivalent certification preferred/required where applicable.

Responsibilities

Identify regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA and related regulations.
Staffing, training, and evaluating competency of personnel.
Provide on-site supervision and consultation to laboratory staff.
Evaluate equipment and supply needs and manage budget implications.
Maintain Quality Management and ensure timely, accurate reporting of test results.
Oversee proficiency testing, QC, and corrective action processes.
Lead training initiatives and competency evaluations for staff.
