Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Associate to join the Riverside location on the University of Minnesota Campus. You will work with children and adolescents aged 4-18 in a high-acuity unit, delivering patient care under RN direction, supporting safety, daily living activities and therapeutic programming.

This role operates on a night shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with every other weekend and a variable schedule; SEIU benefits are available.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in mental health, healthcare, or school setting and demonstrated experience with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient and staff safety as assigned.
• Conduct safety checks of patients and unit/searches.
• De-escalate and respond to emergency situations as trained.
• Participate in milieu management and treatment team collaboration.
• Provide basic ADL assistance and mobility support as needed.
• Assist with daily living routines per treatment plan and support group activities.
