Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Psychiatric Associate for our Adult Mental Health unit on the West Bank near downtown Minneapolis. This evening shift role operates 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with eight-hour shifts and every other weekend, following a variable schedule.

You will support patient care under RN direction and help create a therapeutic environment on designated units. The position emphasizes safety, milieu management, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to meet treatment

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mental health, healthcare, or school settings.
• Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc., Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of patients and staff through visual checks and documentation.
• Conduct room, belongings and unit searches as assigned.
• Participate in de-escalation of patients and implement trained physical interventions.
• Collaborate with treatment team for milieu management and therapy planning.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility support.
• Provide patient education and respond to emergencies as trained.
