Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis seeks a Psychiatric Assistant to join the Behavioral Float Pool. The team supports child/adolescent, adult, and senior patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role features a night shift on 12-hour schedules (7:00PM–7:30AM) with every third weekend, and is SEIU benefit eligible. You will help provide patient care and maintain a therapeutic environment on assigned units.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in mental health, healthcare, or school settings with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross) certification required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and promote a therapeutic environment as directed by the RN.
• Assist with ADLs and mobility as needed.
• Participate in milieu management and treatment team activities.
• Deliver education to patients individually or in groups per the treatment plan.
• Respond to emergencies per policy and support team goals.

Bachelor's or higher in Psychology / Sociology / Human Services or related field
