Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Psychiatric Associate for our Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Unit 20). The role involves caring for patients with anxiety, depression, self-harm risk, thought disorders, and community reintegration challenges.

You will collaborate with RNs, PAs, residents, and medical students on teaching rounds. The position is on the evening shift (3:00PM–11:30PM) with a 64-hour biweekly schedule, eligible for SEIU benefits, and requires BLS certification and experience

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in mental health, healthcare, or school setting and demonstrated experience with vulnerable individuals or high acuity behavioral needs.
• Basic Life Support (AHA/Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient and staff safety through checks and security procedures.
• Conduct safety checks, room and unit searches, and assist with basic daily living activities.
• Participate in de-escalation of patients and follow treatment plans.
• Contribute to milieu management and team-based care with the treatment team.
• Provide education to patients or groups as part of the treatment plan.
• Respond to emergencies per policy and participate in the multidisciplinary team.
