Job summary

OhioHealth in the United States is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician - Non-Certified to perform cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and power equipment. The role includes preparation and packaging of instrumentation, quality control testing, and maintaining records for surgical cases.

The position requires adherence to OSHA standards, knowledge of sterilization indicators, and accurate instrument tracking.

Qualifications

Requires knowledge of reading, writing and math normally acquired through High school education.
Demonstrates ability to work well with others as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and do basic mathematical calculations.
Requires basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the decontamination, disinfection and cleaning of various reusable surgical instruments.
Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization process and indicators, documentation, storage and transportation.
Effectively enters and searches the instrument tracking system and assists with case preparation.
Interacts with external customers such as vendors and surgical reps for loaner trays and CEUs.
Follows industry standards and best practices as supported by AAMI and AORN.
Demonstrates strong customer service skills while meeting needs of operating rooms and external clinics.
Aids in the education and training of fellow associates.
