Job summary

Banner Boswell Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant on the 3rd Floor Specialty Cardiac Progressive Care Unit in Sun City, AZ. The role covers a 24-bed telemetry unit focused on heart failure patients, with 6pm–6:30am shifts and a 2 nights/week schedule.

Includes weekend rotations and holiday coverage, plus pay differentials during night and weekends. Responsibilities include routine patient care, data collection, documentation, and support for unit operations; strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current CNA in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
• Typically 1 year medical clerical experience; preferably hospital/physician office setting; customer service helpful.
• Excellent organizational skills, effective human relations and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.
• ECG/EEG-specific qualifications may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to care plans.
• Collects patient data, vital signs, I/O; documents in medical records.
• Communicates status of patients to care team for continuity of care.
• Performs procedures and uses equipment under supervision, including EKG-related tasks when delegated.
• Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintains patient records, charting forms and supplies; supports ordering of specimens.
• Assists with transporting patients and OR-related turnover as needed.
• Interacts with staff, patients, families and physicians in a fast-paced environment.
