Job summary

Adventist HealthCare in Maryland is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time night shifts. You will perform vital signs and daily living activities under RN supervision, following care plans and reporting to the RN.

The role emphasizes safety, compassion, and adherence to policies within a faith-based health system. Eligible candidates hold Maryland CNA licensure, BLS certification, and strong math and computer skills; acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA license required; must be certified and on the Maryland Registry.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic; strong computer skills; ability to read, write and speak English.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Duties may vary by area of assignment.
• Consider special needs and behaviors of patient populations.
• Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives.
• Pursue personal and professional development to adapt to change.
• Present a positive and professional image for nursing and the organization.
• Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the RN.
• Receive report from the RN.
• Ensure a culture of safety.
• Identify resources necessary for safe patient care delivery.
• Appropriately utilize resources.
• Identify/report malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
