Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking a part-time CNA to assist with patient care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to the care plan, and professional conduct in a 7pm–7am 24-hour week schedule.

The candidate should have Maryland CNA certification, BLS, and strong English communication. Employment includes benefits, shift differential, and non-rotating shifts where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Maryland CNA License required
• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maryland and be on the State of Maryland Registry
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Specific duties may vary by area of assignment
• Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations
• Participates in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
• Commits to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
• Presents a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
• Follows the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receives report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensures a culture of safety
• Identifies resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care
• Appropriately utilizes resources
• Identifies and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
