Job summary

The State of Oklahoma’s Lawton Veterans Home is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (ACMA) for full-time night shift. This role provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under supervision, including vitals, ADLs, and medication administration with four advancements (Gastro, Respiratory, Glucose, Insulin).

Requirements include two years of patient care experience, current CNA certification and CMA-A certification, and potential driver’s license considerations.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in providing patient care.
• Must have current CNA certification and CMA certification with the four advancements (Gastro, Respiratory, Glucose and Insulin).
• Proficiency in basic nursing techniques and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct nursing tasks including taking vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living.
• Charts observations and activities, reporting changes in the patient’s condition.
• Escorts patients to and from destinations and maintains a safe environment.
• Orders, receives and stores supplies and performs basic clerical functions.
• Participates in follow-up activities and tracking clients, scheduling appointments and related tasks.
• Provides case finding and recruitment of at-risk persons for health services.
