Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a dedicated security officer to protect campus personnel, patients, students and assets. You will perform fixed-post or patrol duties, respond to incidents, check badges, escort unauthorized individuals, and support loss prevention across campus and hospital grounds.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to work all shifts, and readiness to obtain Pennsylvania Lethal Weapons Certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must understand and complete Security Department training modules.
• Physically capable of handling demanding security duties and weather conditions.
• Able to work all shifts and rotate; maintain professional uniform appearance.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Lethal Weapons Certification required within 90 days by PA State Police.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and E-mail tools.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Performs patrols and checks IDs; escorts unauthorized persons from campus as needed.
• Responds quickly to calls for service; notifies supervisor and may de-escalate emergencies.
• Investigates incidents; maintains daily patrol log and forwards reports.
• Assists employees, patients and visitors; provides security escorts as required.
• Assists with campus parking issues; patrols parking lots and equipment.
• Supports safety teams; enforces No Smoking and assists with trainings.
• Performs other related security and protection duties as assigned.
