Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Operating Engineer for on-site work in McLean, VA. The role focuses on maintaining critical building systems, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to service requests with a team.

The ideal candidate holds a four-year building maintenance background with HVAC/electrical trades, a universal CFC certification, and the ability to read blueprints. Night shift is Wednesday through Saturday, 7:30pm–6:00am, with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Accredited trade school degree in HVAC, electronics, or related trade.
• Minimum four years in building maintenance with union training acceptable.
• Universal CFC certification and ability to read safety rules and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical and electrical equipment to support critical building environments.
• Operate building systems safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Learn and use building control systems and UPS systems with on-the-job training.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and respond to service requests.
• Inspect and repair pumps, fans, valves, motors, and related equipment.
• Maintain records for time tracking and maintenance activities.
• Occasionally serve as on-call engineer for after-hours emergencies.
