Job summary

Montgomery College on the Germantown campus seeks an immediate Building Service Supervisor for a third shift (10:00pm–6:30am, Mon–Fri). This non-bargaining, Exempt, grade 23 position is designated as essential personnel to keep campus facilities operational and secure.

The role oversees staff and contractors, completes work orders, ensures safety and SDS compliance, and participates in training and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and related experience in building custodial work.
• Six years of progressively responsible experience leading staff in custodial operations.
• Equivalent education, training, certification and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned staff, assign duties, set priorities and deadlines, and monitor performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coordinate coaching and disciplinary actions.
• Identify training needs and coordinate in-house training.
• Review and approve timesheets and make corrections as needed.
• Schedule and inspect work, ensuring standards are met.
• Oversee contractors, review bids, issue purchase orders, and sign off completed jobs.
• Assist in implementing systematic team cleaning and GS 42.
• Maintain SDS documentation.
• Record, inspect and operate College vehicles and equipment.
• Create and track work orders using the work order database.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
