Job summary

Poly-America, L.P. is seeking a Safety Specialist to coach employees, perform safety audits, and lead investigations in a manufacturing setting. The role requires coordinating with management to implement corrective actions and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year in Safety/Environmental fields and an associates degree or OSHA certifications. The position offers a 4 on 4 off schedule and a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical/Dental

Qualifications

1 year of experience in Safety/Environmental field, preferably in manufacturing.
Associates degree or equivalent hours in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or related field.
OSHA Training Institute Certifications may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

Coach employees on proper work methods and practices.
Conduct facility safety audits with management and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Perform regular safety walks with the management team.
Advise on methods to minimize safety risks and improve workplace safety.
Lead the accident investigation process.
Intervene in unsafe activities or operations.
Assist with LOTO reviews.
Liaise with supervisors to ensure incident reports are complete and submitted timely.
Attend employee safety talks.
Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues.
Assist departments with proper waste disposal practices.
Educate employees on safety standards and safe machine operation.
Must be available for a 4 on 4 off schedule.
