Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, is seeking nursing support staff to assist with patient care under nursing leadership. You will perform assessments, planning, and evaluation of care, serving patients from adolescents to geriatrics, in a team setting.

Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care, ensuring Joint Commission compliance, and promoting a safe, supportive environment with age-appropriate activities. Night shifts rotate, with a 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM schedule.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• Free of chemical use problems for at least one year and attestation.
• FTE 0.75 and night rotation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care under direct supervision of nursing leadership
• Support direct and indirect care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Ensure patient care practices meet Joint Commission standards and other regulatory guidelines
• Collaborate with the care team to meet departmental goals and the organization’s mission
• Facilitate age-appropriate individual and group activities aligned with each patient’s care plan
• Promote a supportive and safe environment addressing each patient’s physical, emotional, and social needs
