Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, invites you to join our Nursing Assistant team. This 0.6 FTE position requires 24 hours per week with every other weekend and rotating 12-hour shifts (Day 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; Overnight 7:00 PM–7:30 AM).

You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Department Director, contributing to safety and comfort while meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements.
• 6 months of patient care experience.
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program.
• Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs.
• Providing comfort care and other assistance.
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients.
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping.
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
