Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include personal hygiene, comfort care, safe transfers, vital signs, and accurate recordkeeping within a 0.7 FTE, day/night rotation schedule.

The role requires meeting one of several nursing assistant education paths and current or soonest state registry registration, with shifts spanning day and night hours and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following requirements: 6 months of patient care experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process

Education

6 months of patient care experience
