Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR and de-escalation technique certification.
• Advanced nursing degree or certification preferred.
• Experience in behavioral healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises RN, LPN/LVN and Mental Health Technicians; ensures policy adherence.
• Assists with interviewing and training new staff; supports ongoing education.
• Contributes to governance meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
• Manages shift coverage and FTEs; coordinates bed management with intake.
• Conducts staff appraisals, counseling and corrective actions as needed.
• Communicates acuity and incidents to nursing leadership; performs on-site rounds.
• Rounds on nights and weekends; ensures safety and security of the hospital.
• Reports critical incidents to CNO or on-call administrator; supports quality initiatives.
