Job summary

Meritus Medical Center Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for Brook Lane. This full-time night-shift role covers 72 hours biweekly (7pm–7:30am) in a high-acuity behavioral health unit.

You will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, assess patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans. A strong focus on safety and patient advocacy is essential.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year of hospital experience.
• RN license to practice in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and monitoring for side effects.
• Conduct patient assessments to evaluate mental, emotional, and physical health needs.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers and therapists on treatment plans.
• Assist with de-escalation, crisis intervention and patient-family education.
• Document interactions and progress in electronic health records.
• Participate in shift hand-offs and team meetings to ensure continuity of care.
