Job summary

Life Center of Galax is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate for a nightshift position at one of our off-campus houses. You will provide personal care services under clinical or nursing leadership, maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive environment.
• Perform safety checks and ensure supervision at 15‑minute intervals as required.
• Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in the patient’s record.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate observations to nursing staff.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals).
• Transport patients or coordinate transportation when required.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude and address patient needs and complaints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
