Job summary

Novolex is seeking a Bag Machine Operator for the 3rd shift in Brownsville, TX. You will monitor and operate the bag machine, check quality, and perform required safety and quality checks while adhering to GMP policies.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the capacity to work with limited supervision. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour with the 3rd shift schedule 10:45pm–7:00am.

Qualifications

• Prefer to have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Must be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions.
• Should possess basic mechanical skills.
• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Must have basic troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
• Check bags for quality defects off the machine, do all quality checks and paper-work as per Quality Policy.
• Follow all quality policies and procedures. Must comply with all good manufacturing practices.
• Must be able to comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements.
• Safely and efficiently change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rolls.
• Start, stop and monitor bag machinery and ensure it is running at the budgeted machine speed.
• Thread paper through machine smoothly as required.
• Package bags as specified.
• Ensure correct quantities of bags are being placed on the press.
