Job summary

Amentum is seeking a 3rd shift Automotive Mechanic IV to join our facility maintenance team in Davenport, IA. The role focuses on repair and preventive maintenance of material handling equipment, including forklifts, electric carts, and related gear.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, perform tire changes, weld, and maintain accurate work logs while coordinating with management and customers.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the repair and maintenance of fork trucks, material handling equipment or automobiles.
• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and replace motors, pumps, drive unit and brake systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Changes tires using hydraulic press.
• Use welding equipment.
• Complete daily work logs with detailed information on a timely basis.
• Maintain professional and courteous customer relations including client vendor and internal team.
• Complies with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
