Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Hesston, KS is seeking an Automation Technician for the 3rd shift (10:30pm–6:30am). You will program new weld jobs on robotic weld cells, adjust automated fabrication equipment, and help develop preventive maintenance plans.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and prior manufacturing experience; you’ll troubleshoot, monitor machine efficiency, and collaborate with maintenance and vendors to keep production moving.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior manufacturing experience.
• Capable of reading and understanding manufacturing drawings, including weld callouts and quality.
• Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Program new weld jobs on robotic weld cells.
• Make program adjustments to automated fabrication equipment.
• Develop maintenance programs and perform or oversee preventative maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot problems with programs/equipment and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Monitor for corrective action downtime impacts and monitor machine efficiencies weekly.
• Perform data driven projects and contribute to project management as needed.
• Nesting jobs for lasers and programming for press brakes.
