Job summary

Malvern Health is actively seeking full-time night shift nurses for our Malvern Treatment Center in Philadelphia. The role runs 7pm–7:30am three set nights weekly with alternating weekends, offering benefits eligibility and added shift differentials starting at 3pm.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/RN program.
• Current LPN/RN licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Clinical experience in the treatment of addiction is preferred
• Knowledge of the Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs standards
• Strong organization skills with a proven ability to multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a supportive, caring, and non-judgmental manner with staff and patients
• Proven ability to educate, communicate, and empathize with patients respectfully
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and providers
• Able to problem solve and work with others
• Able to remain calm in crisis situations
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Identifies and provides written assessments of patients on admission and throughout treatment
• Documents current needs/problems and past medical, psychiatric, drug, and alcohol history and ensures assessment addresses bio-psychosocial needs
• Completes multidisciplinary assessments when needed
• Identifies and evaluates patients’ learning needs and documents learning readiness and address during treatment
• Formulates and uses a written nursing care plan based on diagnosis and outcomes
• Integrates plan with multidisciplinary team and patient, including medical problems, medication, diet, and self-care needs
• Assesses patient needs for medication based on withdrawal symptoms as ordered by the physician
• Administers and accounts for medications and controlled drugs
• Provides for patient safety through preventative measures
• Implements infection control and isolation procedures and disposal of hazardous waste
• Responds to emergencies and implements disaster plans when necessary
• Oversees and educates patients, provides educational literature, and meets with them individually
• Interacts with team members to maintain high morale
• Revises the written care plan as needed
• Delegates duties to staff after assessing patient needs
• Transcribes physician orders accurately and timely
• Contributes to continuing education and professional growth
• Acts as a resource in patient care and specialty areas
• Participates in task forces and committees
• Supports other departments during off hours to ensure patient care
• Follows infection control practices
• May direct and provide feedback on Clinical Aides
• Performs other duties as assigned
