Job summary

Trinity Health MercyOne unit seeks an Acute Care RN to provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. You will monitor patients, coordinate with LPNs and care team, and ensure accurate documentation and communication with physicians and families.

The role requires graduation from an accredited program with RN license, BLS/ACLS per unit, and ability to manage telemetry.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; Illinois license if working in IL.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required only if unit has telemetry.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes.
• Identifies problems and develops outcome-based care plans with referrals.
• Implements the plan of care and coordinates with the care team.
• Assesses discharge planning and documents patient education.
• Communicates with physicians, families and team during shift.
• Maintains telemetry monitoring and age-appropriate care as needed.
