Job summary

Japs‑Olson Company, LLC is seeking a 1st Pressman for the night shift (6 PM–6 AM, 3–4 days). You will set up, operate, and maintain commercial web presses, oversee make-readies, and ensure quality to customer specs on every job.

You will lead the 2nd Pressman and roll tenders, perform precision adjustments, and keep production on schedule while minimizing waste. A strong mechanical background and leadership ability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Lead operator experience on commercial web presses, from setup to completion.
• Experience with Heidelberg and Goss Web Presses preferred.
• Ability to make independent press operation decisions on color, quality, and output.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for press adjustments and maintenance.
• Leadership to train 2nd pressmen, roll tenders, and material sorters.

Responsibilities

• Lead all press setups, including mounting plates and color setup.
• Make final color and registration decisions and ensure output quality.
• Troubleshoot mechanical or print quality issues during runs.
• Direct the 2nd Pressman and roll tenders in tasks and workflow.
• Perform advanced press adjustments and routine maintenance.
• Maintain production pace while minimizing spoilage and waste.
• Complete job tickets, quality checks, and production reports.
• Communicate progress and concerns with supervisors and QA.
