Job summary

Brook + Whittle is seeking a Press Assistant for a Sunday through Thursday night shift (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with a $1.50 shift differential.

The role supports the Flexographic Press Operator, manages materials, performs make-readies, and ensures quality and safety in a manufacturing pressroom. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of manufacturing experience, and willingness to learn press operations with the aim of advancing to a Press Operator role.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• S.M.E.D. Training desired.
• One year of machine experience or more in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Flexographic Press Operator with make-readies and production.
• Stage raw material rolls for operators.
• Load materials, make splices, ensure quality of splices.
• Assist with changeovers and web breaks.
• Label finished rolls with neon labels and core tags.
• Monitor roll changes and logs.
• Assist Ink Technicians as needed.
• Operate forklifts and Pit Crew equipment as required.
• Report malfunctions to supervisors/maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Support press operations with goal of advancing to Press Operator.
• Coordinate with QA on quality issues and defects.
• Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
