Job summary

The Salvation Army Kingsport Corps is seeking a dedicated security-facing staff member to support its emergency housing program during the night shift. You will monitor client behavior, ensure safety and compliance with shelter rules, and perform shelter intake with accurate bed records.

The role requires staying vigilant in a shelter environment, providing trauma-informed guidance to clients, and maintaining safety for staff and residents during the overnight hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Six months experience working with the public in a security or social services environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitors client's behavior and activities to ensure compliance with program and facility rules; directs clients in a trauma-informed way to stay in the program.
• Provides security for the building and grounds by being aware of activities in residential dorms.
• Performs intake for clients checking into the shelter and maintains an accurate bed list.
